At the Boys and Girls Club we offer a variety of programs to help build positive relationships, responsibility and the power to make good choices.
The goal of Triple Play is to teach children how to care for their mind, body and soul. Triple Play emphasizes good nutrition, staying active and overall good well-being.
S.M.A.R.T. Moves (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) is geared to help members make good choices regarding drugs, smoking and alcohol. Rather than just teaching children to just say no, S.M.A.R.T. Moves emphasizes role playing to practice resistance and refusal skills. Members are informed of the hazards of drugs, smoking and alcohol so that they know the risks of possible choices.
Project LEARN emphasizes the importance of academic achievement with homework help after school and family communication. Members are provided a safe place to do their homework, along with assistance from staff and junior staff. Members have supplies on hand that they may not have at home, such as computer access, glue, scissors and other school necessecities.
CLUBService is a program that allows members 17-18 and alumni or staff ages 19-24 a chance to serve their club and earn money for higher education. This program recognizes their service to their Club and community, encourages a higher education and hopes that CLUBService members will eventually go on to serve their Club through their career. |
